Event Description

Brighton Lesbian & Gay Sports Society ae looking for volunteers for the Olympic Torch relay when it comes to Sussex

 

On Monday 16th July Gideon Meade, founder of BLAGSS, is due to run with the Olympic Torch at 11:50 in Chichester, and Jason Saw, leader of the MindOut project and BLAGSS member, will be bearing the Torch at 15:38 in Arundel.

 

BLAGSS members and supporters will be greeting the Olympic Torch as it passes through four locations, including the two where BLAGSS members will be carrying the torch. Join them in BLAGSS colourful new design t-shirts. They hope to have 100 greeters at Hove Lawns - They'll provide a t-shirt for £2.50, with 50p going to their official charity, the Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard.

 

We will be welcoming the torch in the following locations. Times are approximate, so please arrive early. If you would like to be at Chichester and/or Arundel, we may be able to carpool.

 

Monday, 16 July

Chichester @11:50, to greet one of our founding members, Gideon Meade.

Arundel @15:40, to cheer on member Jason Saw, who is representing MindOut.

Hove Lawns @18:30

 

Tuesday, 17 July

Preston Park @7:30


Members and non-members are warmly invited to come and show your support and take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you are a member, why not set a goal and bring a non-member friend?! Contact vicechair@blagss.org with your t-shirt size.

Peer Action for those living with or affected by HIV

Peer Action is a support group for all those living with or affected by HIV. Their core aim is to help break down the feelings of isolation and anxiety through a range of social activities and peer led support groups, including monthly, low cost holistic therapies, weekly yoga sessions, theatre trips and fundraising nights.
